APA Findings Broadcast from New York to Japan

October 23, 2008—The 2008 American Psychological Association (APA) Stress in America survey was unveiled to the media in New York City on October 7. Katherine Nordal, PhD, Executive Director for Professional Practice, presented survey findings and information on more effectively managing stress and when to seek professional help.
Dr. Nordal was joined by Karina Davidson, PhD, president of Division 38, and Rick Millard, PhD, long-
time APA member and president of U.S. Industry Groups of Harris Interactive, which was commissioned by APA to conduct the study.
In the days and weeks following the media launch, Dr. Nordal and APA Public Education Campaign (PEC) Coordinators gave television, newspaper, radio and online interviews across the country and the world.
At press time, the survey had been featured in more than 100 newspaper articles and on more than 500 television segments.
