Evidence-Based Practice in Psychology

Helps practitioners understand the Evidence-Based Practice in Psychology (EBPP) conceptual framework. Topics include the foundational elements of EBPP, barriers to using EBPP and reasons to overcome them, ways to find and use EBPP resources, and how EBPP can be applied in different theoretical orientations.

Learning Objectives Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• State the purpose and goals of EBPP.

• Describe key elements of the EBPP conceptual framework.

• Describe the three components of EBPP.

• Describe the psychologist’s actions (six steps) in providing evidence based clinical services.

• Recognize EBPP elements in varied cases as well as in your current practice.

• Describe ways to find EBPP resources.

• Describe ways to use EBPP resources.

• Identify three personal barriers to using EBPP.

• Identify one reason to overcome each barrier.
