APA Supports House Health Care Reform Legislation

American Psychological Association (APA) Chief Executive Officer Norman B. Anderson, PhD, extends support for the House health care reform legislation, H.R. 3200, the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.

In a letter dated July 17 to the House Committee on Ways and Means Chair, Charles Rangel, Committee on Energy and Commerce Chair, Henry A. Waxman, and Committee on Education and Labor Chair, George Miller, American Psychological Association (APA) Chief Executive Officer Norman B. Anderson, PhD, offered the APA's support for the overall bill, and gratitude for the extension of the 5 percent Medicare psychotherapy restoration, the inclusion of mental health substance use in benefit plans, and for stopping the 21 percent cut in Part B reimbursement scheduled for January.
